What to Expect
at Your First Appointment
When you come to Hearing Solutions for your hearing healthcare, you will notice how professional, relaxed, and friendly our office is. We do our best to make you feel comfortable so you can focus on what really matters, experiencing better hearing.
- We always begin appointments with a conversation to get to know you. We will ask you some questions about your medical history, family history, and what about your hearing is concerning you.
- We will explain how sound is heard in decibels and frequencies and show you an audiogram (how hearing loss is tracked). We will also record your communication style so we can create a plan best suited to you.
- After our conversation we will perform an otoscopic examination of the inside of your ears. If you have a build-up of earwax that is affecting your hearing, we can remove that in office.
- Once we’ve determined your ears are clear, then we will perform a series of hearing tests. This will assess your ability to hear different sounds and words at various volumes.
- We will go over the results of your audiogram with you and recommend a solution that will help you hear better.
